Seven Essential Aadhaar Deadlines You Should Not Miss

Aadhaar linking dates are soon approaching, and We are sure that you are aware of that. To avail certain social schemes and benefits you need to complete your Aadhaar linkage process. The Indian government has been requesting regarding this for a long time, and now the dates are drawing closer. The 12 unique digits number is your key to many benefits, and there are some due dates, you must keep in mind. Here are a few of them that you need to remember to continue availing the benefits.
Bank accounts/ financial services: Almost every adult citizen in India owns a bank account and to save your account from getting blocked it is mandatory to link your Aadhaar with your bank account on or before 31st December 2017. This is probably the last call for Aadhaar card linkage with the bank account and if you skip the process this time you might face problems for the smooth functioning of the bank account.

PPF, NSC linking: There are several schemes to save your hard earned money like post office account, Public Provident Fund (PPF), National Savings Certificate (NSC), etc. If you want to invest in such services you should link your Aadhaar on a mandatory basis to enjoy the services. As said by finance ministry the due date to update Aadhaar is 31st December 2017. Before that, if your Aadhaar card is not updated, then we advise you to update your Aadhaar Card.

Pan card: The last date to link your pan card with Aadhaar was earlier 31st December 2017, but now, the government has extended it to 31st March 2018 and thus you have an extra time of three months for registering your pan card with your Aadhaar. This information has been released by the central board of direct taxes, and all the taxpayers are requested to link their Aadhaar before the due date in order to proceed with the ITR formalities.

Insurance linking: Many people buy insurance schemes like life insurance, home insurance, vehicle and business insurance and many more. If you own one, you must link your Aadhaar number and pan card with your insurance policies before 31st December.

Linking sim card:  Linkage of sim cards along with Aadhaar card has also become compulsory for the Indian citizens. The last date for linking the sim cards stands to be 6 February 2018 and if not done then your sim card will be deactivated. The government has made it mandatory, and if you want to save your number, you must follow the required process before the deadline. Linking your Aadhar with sim gives you many benefits with your plans.

Mutual Fund linking: If you have invested in mutual funds then your mutual fund profile needs to be linked with Aadhaar before 31st December to prevent any kind of money laundering. Everyone including first-time investors and seasonal traders are requested to follow the deadlines.

For social security schemes: The government always comes up with various social schemes, and in order to enjoy those benefits, you need to link your Aadhaar. One needs to complete the linking process before the due date, and that is December 2017.

Linking Aadhaar doesn’t charge you anything, in fact, it makes you eligible for many social schemes. Thus as responsible citizens of India, we should enroll Aadhaar within the deadlines in order to avail various benefits such as Human Resource Development ministry’s scholarship, LPG subsidy, and Public Distribution scheme that give you ration at low rates. So, note the deadlines and complete your linkage process before the due dates so that you can keep enjoying benefits as a resident of India.
